This series began when I took part in an Opus Art Supply Store challenge to paint every day. I discovered how much I enjoyed working small and spontaneously, creating a painting in just an hour or two without overthinking the process. I kept the paintings small and square, ranging in sizes from 4 x 4 inches to 10 x 10 inches, a format which suited this quick, playful way of working.

Flowers, butterflies, gardens, and hearts began appearing in these playful little paintings. I loved the freedom of working intuitively with colour and expressive brushstrokes, allowing each painting to develop in its own way.

I began offering he paintings at affordable prices, and to my delight, almost all of them found homes. Many were purchased by family, friends and members from the international community I had become part of during my years in Bangkok, so these little paintings eventually found homes near and far.

Looking back at them now reminds me how much I enjoy creating art that is spontaneous, colourful and simply joyful.
